MS Amlin Appoints Dr. Jessica Turner as New Head of Risk Analytics

Dr. Jessica Turner has been appointed as the new Head of Risk Analytics by MS Amlin, the worldwide reinsurer for Lloyd’s. She will officially begin her role on June 26, 2023 , reporting directly to Martin Burke , Director of Underwriting Performance.

Commenting on the appointment, Martin Burke emphasized the importance of innovation and diverse expertise.

Dr. Jessica Turner’s Expertise in Catastrophe Risk

Dr. Turner brings a wealth of experience to MS Amlin, having served as Managing Director and Head of International Catastrophe Consultancy at Guy Carpenter for over four years. In this role, she led a global team of natural disaster experts, offering:

  • Model advisory

  • Evaluation and adjustment analytics

  • Climate change risk quantification for major perils across EMEA and Asia-Pacific

Career Path: From Lloyds Banking Group to Reinsurance

Prior to her tenure at Guy Carpenter, Dr. Turner spent over two years at Lloyds Banking Group as a Senior Manager. Earlier in her career, she also held key positions at RMS and Willis Re , further deepening her credentials in risk modeling and disaster management.

Academic Credentials and Professional Recognition

Dr. Turner is a Certified Disaster Risk Analyst and holds a PhD in atmospheric science . She also possesses an Advanced Diploma in Insurance , underscoring her academic and professional qualifications in both science and the insurance sector.
